Itinerary

Day 1/6

From Oslo to the Arctic

You are booked on a morning flight from Oslo to Kirkenes and will be picked up at Kirkenes Airport and transported to the Snow Hotel, just 20 minutes outside of Kirkenes. Here, you will check into comfortable and luxurious cabins before enjoying a good lunch. If you wish to stay overnight in the Snow Hotel itself, this will be arranged upon arrival.

After lunch, you will go on your first excursion – king crab fishing, followed by a feast made from your very own catch. When you return to the hotel, you will have free time to explore the camp. Here, you can visit the huskies in the dog yard, swim if the weather and temperature permit, take a sauna (contact the hotel reception to book), go for an evening walk in the Arctic nature, or try your luck at fishing. A three-course dinner is served in the restaurant.

Day 2/6

Excursions and departure from Kirkenes

After a good breakfast, you check out and are picked up at the hotel in the morning for departure to the next excursion of the trip, a visit to the Russian border. On the way back to the ship, there is time for a stop in Kirkenes and a tour of Andersgrotta – Kirkenes' largest bomb shelter, built in 1941. The excursion ends at the Kirkenes harbor, where one of Havila Kystruten's brand new coastal route ships is waiting for you. Check in on the ship, find your comfortable cabin, and start your stay on board with your first taste of our unique food concept as we offer lunch.

For the rest of the first day on board, we recommend that you explore the ship and simply enjoy the beautiful Arctic nature that flows by outside the large panoramic windows. How about a workout in our well-equipped gym on deck 7? Or a dip in our jacuzzi on deck 8 followed by a visit to the sauna? In the evening, enjoy a nice dinner in Havrand and we assume you will sleep well in comfortable beds after eventful days in the Arctic.

Day 3/6

The tip of Europe

The journey continues southward, and early on the third day, there is an opportunity to have breakfast at the North Cape, by joining the excursion "Breakfast at the North Cape" and check off another bucket list experience! You can book this excursion before the start of the trip or once you are on board in Kirkenes. Further south, there is also the possibility to explore the country's northernmost city, Hammerfest.

Just before midnight, the ship arrives at the "Paris of the North," Tromsø. Here you have the chance to experience a truly unique midnight concert in the city's cathedral.

Recommended extra excursions:

Day 4/6

The most beautiful nature of Norway

The next day is a highlight, as you will experience some of the most beautiful nature Norway has to offer. The day starts in Harstad, then continues through Risøyrenna down towards Vesterålen. With a sense of history, the ship docks in Stokmarknes, the birthplace of the coastal route, where we highly recommend a visit to the Hurtigruten Museum.

Havila Voyages_ the Trollfjord

Sailing quietly through Raftsundet towards the magical Trollfjorden will immerse you in the majestic nature. Trollfjorden, silent and emission-free on battery power, is an unforgettable experience before the ship sails down to Svolvær, in the heart of Lofoten. A RIB safari to see the sea eagle up close is something you should definitely treat yourself to.

Recommended extra excursions:

Day 5/6

Arctic Circle and Helgeland coast

On the last full day on board, you will cross the Arctic Circle in the early morning hours before the beautiful Helgeland coast reveals itself with the Seven Sisters, island landscapes, and a magical atmosphere. We recommend excursions to the famous Torghatten, or get a interesting glimpse into the Norwegian salmon adventure during this part of the journey.
