Molde seen from the seaside.
Molde seen from the mountain.

From Molde onwards, the sea dominates with small island communities that cling to the rocks by the ocean. Further inland there are jagged tips and peaks and vertical rock faces.

The Romsdal Alps challenge and impress mountain hikers, climbers - and motorists who slowly wind their way through the eleven hairpin bends along the dramatic Trollstigen Road that was carved into the mountain and built of stone with raw muscle power a hundred years ago.
