You start from the centre of Honningsvåg and drive to the top of the so-called NATO mountain, which is named after the Norwegian Air Force's radar station which was located here and which was also part of NATO's radar system.
On the way up and down from the mountain you get expansive views of mountains, plains, fjords and the sea, and there are many photo stops on the way.
It is dark in the middle of winter, and there is no sun to be seen even if the ATV safari is in the middle of the day. It creates a magical atmosphere in the scenery where houses and street lighting form warm bright spots around the landscape. Throughout the spring, the light increases with each passing day, and the landscape turns a sparkling white against the blue sea and blue fjord.
