We aim to operate the most environmentally friendly ships on the Norwegian coast, ensuring that we minimize our impact on the environment while still providing an exceptional cruise experience.
We believe that our guests should be able to experience the natural beauty of Norway without harming it, and we take our responsibility to protect the environment very seriously.
Environment: We aim to lead the industry by operating the world’s most environmentally friendly coastal cruise ships, achieving climate-neutral vessel operations by 2028, emission-free vessel operations by 2030, reaching a 40% fleet-wide waste sorting rate, and adopting a circular approach to the way we use our resources.
Reducing food waste: We take our pride in reducing the food waste on board as much as possible. In fact, we have set an ambitious goal of limiting the average food waste per passenger to 75 grams per day. Over the course of one year – and across the four ships – the food waste will be reduced by as much as 60 tonnes compared to buffet style dining. In 2022 we delivered below this number, and ended up with an average of 71 grams.
Local coastal communities: Havila Voyages is determined to create value to local coastal communities and provide solutions that benefit all. Our ships are also more quiet and with lower emissions than other similar vessels.
People: People is our greatest asset. Making sure we offer an environment our employees, guests and stakeholders can thrive in is our most important investment.
Eco-Voyager Program: The Eco-Voyager Program is the Havila way of mobilising our guests to taking care of our environment by reducing energy, water consumption and waste generation on our coastal cruise from Bergen-Kirkenes.
Coastal Cruise Ships of the Future: Havila Voyages’ four coastal cruise ships are loaded with the largest battery packs ever installed on a passenger ship, meaning that we can sail for four hours straight with zero emissions. That way you can visit vulnerable fjords without worrying about environmental issues and do so in utter silence.
