Stamsund
Stamsund is a fishing port and fishing village that offers a salty taste of the Lofoten experience. Out in the sea, the conditions are excellent for fishing, and up in the mountains, the conditions are just as excellent for hiking.

When do we get to Stamsund? See Sailing schedule
Stamsund is near the Lofotr Viking Museum where you can see how the Vikings lived here about a thousand years ago. Enter the 83-metre long Viking house, a reconstruction of the largest house found from the Viking Age, and taste, smell and learn about the Vikings' everyday life. Watch the blacksmith in action, and maybe take a rowing or sailing trip on the fjord in a Viking ship.
If you travel way, way out from Stamsund, first by car and then by ferry, you will arrive at Røst. The ultimate outpost. Twenty kilometres from the nearest island In the middle of the sea. The most expansive panorama. Finally, there are no trees or mountains. Only the open ocean and barren landscape. The sky is at its highest and the air at its freshest there.
