Put on a dry flotation suit and float weightlessly in the harbour basin at Brattørkaia, with views of Trondheim's skyline. Afterwards, a floating sauna awaits – and for the toughest, a cold dip.
Early in the morning, while the rest of Trondheim is still asleep, you meet your guide on the quay and walk the ten minutes from the ship to Brattørkaia. There, you change into a warm, waterproof flotation suit and receive a safety briefing before entering the clear, cold fjord water.
You float on the surface of the sheltered harbour basin, with views of modern architecture, marine life and the city skyline against the fjord. The suit provides buoyancy and carries your body weight, so you don't need to know how to swim – and you stay completely dry. The excursion runs year-round – in winter, the harbour basin is often covered by a thin layer of ice, and you float among ice floes instead of open water.
Afterwards, a floating sauna awaits. You warm up between sessions, and for the toughest among you, it's just a step from the sauna bench straight into the cold water.
After floating and sauna, you return to the ship, where a good breakfast awaits, and we continue sailing south.
