Winter (Dec-Feb)

Polar nights beneath the Northern Lights

The days grow long and balmy. North of the Arctic Circle, they never end. The midnight sun hangs above the horizon all through the night. The summer days can be warm, but the temperature and the crisp, clear air tell you that you are in the high north.

Winter – northern lights dancing across the heavens

Frost and snow colour the landscape white, the wind makes your cheeks tingle and burn, and you realise why Norwegians are so fond of woollen clothes. The pale winter light makes the mountains seem taller, the fjords deeper, and the sea darker and more mysterious.
