Up to 10,000 boats come to this small village annually, and large catches are landed at several fishing facilities. The Barents Sea is one of the least polluted seas in the world, and the quality of fish here is second to none. Don't miss the chance to try fried cod tongues.

If you want to try your luck, you can go fishing for cod or halibut. And if you don't hook anything, you will generally see curious seals swimming around the boat. You can also fish from the shore. How about trying your luck in one of the best salmon rivers in Finnmark?

Many hiking trails will also lead you to exciting landscapes with Arctic species such as the Svalbard poppy and one of the northernmost birch forests in the world.
