Changed time for first roundtrip
Havila Voyages has recognized and has been informed about delayed delivery of Havila Capella og Havila Castor.
The delays are still mainly related to the Covid-19 pandemic which causesgeneral limitations on the activity at the yard and more specifically the yardspossibility to import qualified foreign workforce for technical completion and cosmetic completion of the passenger areas onboard.
In addition, during the sea trial in early August, an unexpected and unusual technical issue with regards to the transformers onboard was discovered. A solution has been concluded and Havila Capella has started a new sea trial.
After the sea trial necessary time for preparation, certification and delivery is estimated to last for approximately 30 days.
- Havila Capella has as a consequence, adjusted it's sailing schedule and the first round voyage from Bergen is scheduled for 1st December 2021.
- Havila Castor will also be delivered late and the first round voyage from Bergen is scheduled till spring 2022.
Havila Voyages is deeply sorry for the consequences this has for thepassengers booked on the rescheduled departures, and to the people along the Norwegian coast. The company invests all resources to get the ships in operation as soon as possible after the ships have been delivered.
- Havila Voyages was established as family-owned Norwegian shipping company based in Fosnavåg, Sunnmøre.
- Havila Voyages has an agreement with the Norwegian Ministry of Transport to operate four of the eleven ships that sail the classic coastal voyage between Bergen and Kirkenes from 2021 to 2030.
- Havila Voyages is building the most environmentally friendly ships that will sail the Bergen–Kirkenes route. Among other things, the ships have the world's largest battery packs, which enable them to run for four hours without creating noise or emissions.
